Abstract
The evolution of LNG bunkering is in fast progression to meet the challenges of complying IMO directive setting strict restriction globally on sulphur content (0.5%) in marine fuel by January 2020. Out of various options, such as, adoption of scrubber in the exhaust line, costly low sulphur Marine fuel, hybrid fuels, etc., LNG bunkering is pivotal for underpinning the Green House Gas (GHS) emission, which has profound adverse impact in global climate change and sustainable growth. The presentation will focus on state-of-the-art in LNG bunkering system – its key drivers, prospects, outlook and challenges. The extent of maturity in the adoption of LNG bunkering technology in Singapore and in other counties who are active, will also be covered in the discussion.
